That night we came back to the hotel with the room all set up with balloons, presents and cookies thanks to the awesome Red Lion staff.

We met up with Paula, Asa, Brian and Tia and drive up the 101. We spent a night in Morro Bay, 2 nights in San Francisco and one night at the historic Benbow Inn before arriving back in Eureka for Thanksgiving week.

Perfect Weather

We had glorious fall weather today, sunny and barely 60 degrees with a cool breeze. Perfect for a sweatshirt and the playground...so much so, that we went twice.

We've been working on perfecting Ruth's round off and pull over so she can advance to the hot shots class in gymnastics. Will is working on cartwheels and doing a pullover with less help. Both of them are so strong and love practicing gymnastics at the park.

Life has been pretty chill recently, we keep plugging away with homeschooling and spend lots of time at the park and playing with friends. One of the best parts about Ruth going to classes at the charter school has been that she's made new friends who aren't Mormons. The funny thing about the friends we've had playdays with is that they come from very religious families too. She's obviously looking for good kids to surround herself with and can tell which kids have more light than others.

Our combined ward part was Friday and so much fun! The kids all LOVE their costumes which is nice. I felt like I had to make up for last year since we were mid-move and the kids didn't get to use the costumes I made. So this year we've been doing lots of Halloween crafts, skeleton/Halloween stuff for school, eating pumpkin flavored jack-o-lantern pancakes and watching Halloween shows.

And Claire just really loves waffles!
