We went on a 4 mile round trip hike to the Tall Trees Grove for Labor Day. It was very nearly a perfect day. When we stopped for lunch we found lots of little frogs and lots of large banana slugs.
The kids were troopers and didn't complain about being tired or sweaty until the last ten minutes of climbing back up the mountain at the end of 4 miles.
After our long hike we were really sweaty and covered in dirt...so we stopped at the beach on the way home. The waves were big and we had fun trading dirt for sand and sweat for ocean water.
